I love my Ancient Graffiti rain gauges, but unfortunately, glass will break. I was beginning to worry I wouldn't find replacements, but I did, and I'm tickled!
Our Hummingbird Ancient Graffiti Rain Gauge is everything we were hoping for. It is attractive and natural looking. We also purchase some extra tubes, "just in case" we need them. Here, in Iowa, we bring the rain gauge and glass tube before we suspect frost and freezing temperature arrive. I would buy this product again and also as a nice gift idea.
I had left my brass turtle rain gauge outside last fall. It did not occur to me that water sitting in the glass tube would freeze in cold temperatures and break the glass tube. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened. I am extremely happy that Ancient Graffiti sells replacement glass rain gauge tubes. I ordered my replacement online. It fits perfectly. This was a replacement rain gauge and it is fine. The only problem with any in-expensive rain gauge is they will break if forgotten and left out during the winter and water freezes in them. Perhaps that will happen with expensive ones too! I have never had one.

This is a very nice rain gauge tube, with BIG numbers and lines so that it can be easily read.
Fits well into the guage holder. Easy to read. Works well but pricey for what it is. Take it inside for the cold weather because it breaks easily in a freeze. Would be ideal in a non-breakable material.
The tube replaced a tube which froze at the first freeze we had. The tube works well in the warmer weather and I am waiting until spring to use it.
It was a serviceable rain gauge bit. It was a bit overpriced.
The rain gauge tube was intact and delivered promptly, but its diameter was too wide for my holder and there was no way to determine that from the order information.
