This is the best bird feeder that I have ever purchased. If it rains the screen bottom allows the water to run through. The seed does not get ruined as with other feeders.
I am very pleased with the platform feeder. And all the birds love it too. We had an old one that wore out but was very hard to find a replacement. We couldn't use a ground feeder because of the neighbours cats. I finally found the Backyard Chirper. Your product also came very promptly.
I bought these platform feeders to be used in two ways. Firstly, on my back deck, I can easily thread the wires through the bottom of the matching hopper to catch the dropping seeds - that way, the smaller birds can scavenge amongst the discard without much competition and less waste ends up on the ground. An unexpected bonus is that the extra weight minimized the swing of the entire feeder in high winds! Secondly, I suspend these platforms independently from a shepherd hook near bushes for the shyer birds.
