Ah, the squirrel. It may appear cute and bushy to many, but for bird watchers it can be a pest and a nemesis. A squirrel proof feeder can prevent your bird feeder from turning into a feasting ground for squirrels. You can purchase a squirrel proof feeder in a variety of designs, from cage bird feeders to platform feeders. A cage bird feeder has entrances too small for squirrels to gain access; a platform feeder usually has weight sensors that block anything heavier than a bird from snacking on the food.

For those looking for a slightly different approach to eradicating their squirrel problem, a squirrel proof bird feeder like the Twirl-A-Squirrel might make sense. This motorized device gently spins squirrels off the bird feeder and onto the ground below, ensuring that they'll think twice about stealing your bird food again!

This feeder is great! I wore out the last one that I had purchased a number of years ago. I have a wooded property and many squirrels but this feeder keeps the food just for the birds. Please don't stop making them. Thank you!

It is a good thing I know how to repair things. The first couple of days the bigger birds tried to get to the food, they broke the chain on top and when it hit the ground the lid keepers bent and the lid would not stay closed. I got some of my nylon braided cord out and replaced the lid keepers and made a new tether that replaced the chain. Now ti works great and I have no problems.

Wonderful feeder. I hang feeders on a 15' tall anti-bear pole and want easy to open and fill feeders. This one is very easy to fill. It does not allow anything larger than a Downy Woodpecker in. The open mesh bottom prevents buildup of debris and bird waste. Attracts huge number of Goldfinches, House Finches, Downy Woodpeckers and other smaller birds. Grackles CANNOT get food from this feeder. Sadly, English Sparrows can, but they do not overwhelm the other birds. I have been using it for many weeks now, and it is clearly the best feeder of its type I have ever used in well over 20 years of bird feeding.

Built with quality materials. Lid design for filling feeder could be better.

I bought this feeder so that my cardinals and other larger birds had more room to stand on the perch. However, they won't touch it! They will use the other feeders with the same food, even though there is not enough room for them to perch to eat, but will not go near the green feeder. I love the looks of it and it should have been perfect for our yard. :(

We bought this for the little birds and not for squirrels this keeps the big birds from eating the suet and we love it

i am pleased with this feeder. it performs as advertised. it definitely deters squirrels. i have yet to see a squirrel on it. i like the see thru aspect and the large volume reservoir for seed. i had a previous feeder just like this one that a Raccoon was able to access and break. i have moved the new one away from the tree and it seems to help.
